Sparkling cultural life

Get to know and use the culture of the Drammen region! The diversity and all the impressions will give you surplus energy and inspiration that you will not find many other places. World-class artists come here to give you goose bumps and feet itching to rock and here you can also take part in art experiences and exciting exhibitions that will engage and move you.
When you enter the old factory premises that are now the Vestfossen Kunstlaboratorium (“The Art Laboratory”) you will see and experience one of Norway’s most significant showcases for contemporary art. Here at the “Cultural capital Vestfossen” artwork from the entire world is exhibited. Visit as well the Arena Vestfossen in the neighbouring building. A number of artists have galleries and studios here. If you visit one of the exciting exhibitions at Gulden Kunstverk in Nedre Eiker, you can experience some of Norway’s most well-known artists.
When you need a unique musical experience you can choose between intimate venues or something larger and less refined. Here there are concerts at the dynamic Union Scene in Drammen or at the new venue Sekkefabrikken Culture House in Slemmestad. And how about an artists gala at the Drammen Theater? Or a classical manor house concert at a summer estate? You can also travel the world without moving an inch by taking part in a salsa party or dancing to African rhythms. There are many multicultural experiences to be had.
As a contrast to this you can immerse yourself in the summery fragrance of the Holmsbu artists at the gallery Holmsbu Billedgalleri, which is one of the Hurumhalvøya peninsula’s treasures. This was also Henrik Sørensen’s place, constructed out of love for the largest painters’ colony in the Nordic region at the beginning of the 20th century.
