The crowds and the atmosphere have made the ski sprint − in the midst of downtown Drammen – a spectacular ski and folk festival for audiences and TV viewers in many countries. It is easy here to get caught up in the excitement and cheer until you’re throat is hoarse.

At the Lier Apple Festival you can try all varieties of green, yellow or red apples while the children have fun on horseback or rejoice with every new jump into the haystack. You can find a good buy, have a chat with professionals, and receive answers to questions about just about everything that sprouts and grows.

Small-scale food production, food made with love, and straight from the farmer is the theme of the Egertorget Festival that takes place in Øvre Eiker every year. Succomb to the temptations of the bountiful table heaped with plenty while the children listen to fairy tales or entertain themselves with rabbits, calves, pigs, horses, hens and many other animals.

In Sande you will find Norway’s largest eco-festival, with a focus on ecological diversity, environmentally friendly products and fair trade.

Or you can let your favourite music lure you to the Fjord Festival that is put on at Hernestangen in Røyken – an idyllic green tongue of land extending out into the middle of the Drammen fjord.

And last but not least: the River Festival in Drammen, the big event of the summer, with outdoor concerts featuring world class artists, a fun fair, boat race, exhibitions and amusements during the dragon boat competition on the river.
